In order to clear or flush the DNS cache on your Mac OSX machine, you will need to run
Code:

lookupd -flushcache

The lookupd command will clear the cache and refresh from your primary Domain Servers. This is very helpful is you are putting up a new site and need to see the site as soon as possible. Or if you are changing your DNS servers at your Internet Provider.

Hope this helps.

If you are using Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) then lookupd is no longer available, and youwill have to use
Code:

dscacheutil -flushcache

It performs the same function. If you have an earlier OS X you will still need to use the
Code:

lookupd -flushcache
